Within the framework of the digital transformation witnessed by the justice system in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Egyptian Public Prosecution announced on July 27, 2026 the availability of a new service that allows citizens to electronically inquire about data on criminal rulings registered with their national number, through the official electronic portal of the Public Prosecution. This step comes as a continuation of the Public Prosecution’s strategy aimed at expanding the provision of its services digitally, and facilitating its access to citizens in line with the state’s trends towards building an integrated digital justice system.
Content of the new service
According to the statement issued by the Public Prosecution, the service allows citizens to view criminal judgment data issued against them and recorded on the Public Prosecution’s electronic system, using a digital identity system, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. This cooperation aims to ensure accurate verification of the identity of the inquiry requester and to ensure that the requested data belongs exclusively to the requester, achieving the highest levels of security and privacy protection.
The Public Prosecution also clarified that the inquiry is limited to rulings restricted by the national ID number and registered within its electronic system based on available and updated data. It emphasized that the results of this inquiry are not considered a substitute for official certificates or extracts issued by the competent authorities, which remain the official reference used in legal and administrative transactions.
Commitment to protect personal data
The Public Prosecution stressed that the launch of this service takes place within the framework of full commitment to protecting the confidentiality of citizens’ personal data, and in accordance with the provisions of the law regulating data protection, by limiting access to this data to its owner only through the official electronic portal, without providing access to any other party.
